WHAT IS YOUR TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE?
This is always an important question to ask and I love when my clients seek this clarity! I completed my Bachelor of Nutrition Sciences at St Francis Xavier University, Canada. Following University, I compeleted a one-year integrative internship with the University Health Network, working across various community and hospital setting in the GTA.

My work experience has been solidified in cardiology, which is why my work is centered so closely around longevity and prevention of chronic disease through the management of risk factors such as high cholesterol, pre-diabetes, and high blood pressure. I started my career in stroke rehab, cardiac rehab, and the cardiac intensive care unit. My appreciation for the management and prevention of heart disease immensely grew through my experience at the Peter Munk Cardiac Center, Toronto General Hospital and Toronto Rehab.

At Toronto General Hospital, I also had the opportunity to work in Internal Medicine, Multi-organ transplant, and oncology, thereby shaping my experience in working with clients with varying degrees of illness. It solidified my experience and understanding for GI health & function, as well as the management of liver and kidney diseases such as non-alcoholic liver disease and chronic kidney disease.

After having children, I moved my practice to a virtual one to allow for more work-life balance. I love seeing my clients virtually, and understand the straing young children can bring to healthy lifestyle habits. I've been through it too, I see you - and I'm here to meet you where you are at to support you in finding creative way to achieve your health goals!
WHAT IS A DIETITIAN/NUTRITIONIST?
In Canada, Registered Dietitians (RDs) are regulated healthcare professionals with a bachelor's or masters degree in nutrition or dietetics, followed by a comprehensive, 12-month internship in healthcare and community settings. After this, they must pass the national dietetic registration exam to gain licensure through a provincial regulatory body. RDs are also required to engage in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest nutrition and healthcare practices.

In Canada, a Registered Dietitian (RD) is a regulated healthcare professional with specific qualifications, while a nutritionist is not regulated and can vary in qualifications and expertise. RDs have standardized education and training requirements while nutritionists lack such regulation. RDs are allowed to use the term Nutritionist if they wish, while Nutritionist's (who lack the criteria noted above) are not allowed to legally use the "RD/Dietitian" title.
